As per a camera-enthusiast blog, Nikon is reportedly working on
an Android powered camera later this month. According to the
reports, the camera will be a part of Nikon's Coolpix line, and
will be able to connect directly to the Google play market to
download apps which will run on the camera.
The camera's "expected" specs: a 25-250mm lens, a 3.5-inch OLED
screen, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi also the reports suspect the model
number to be CoolPix S800 or S800c ,as posted on the blog Nikon
Rumors on Wednesday. The rumored camera will run on Android
2.3 Gingerbread and will be able to download and run apps.
This however does not change the fact that a vast majority of apps
are going to be fairly useless on the camera… with the exception of
photography apps like Instagram or Pixlr-o-Matic. The combination
of social networking of those apps with a camera is a promising
combination.
