Social media biggies
Twitter and Facebook are on a shopping spree every
week or so there is a new from silicon valley about a acquisition
made by the most happening companies in the world. Twitter and
Facebook has recently made few of the acquisition. These
acquisition are set to be believed as a value addition to the
social media giants.
The duos Twitter and Facebook are following a smart business
strategy of "Buy Them if you cant make them" Or simply
focus on your core competencies.

Twitter has acquired the team at
hotspots.io, a social media analytics company, the
team at Hotspots.io joined Twitter's revenue engineering team to
focus on developing analytics tools for the company's advertising
and publishing partners.

Whereas Facebook has acquired
Instagram (for over $1bn which had been Facebooks
expensive buyout), GazeHawk (webcam eye-tracking
startup, its team was acquired last month but not its product and
technology). Caffeinated Mind ( A file-transfer
startup which offered an on-demand peer-to-peer file sharing
system, here also the team was acquired). It is expected that
Caffeinated Mind would work on tools that will help its employees
share files internally.

With so many acquisitions Facebook and Twitter are preparing for
Future competition since the mobility of end users have increased
and with daily changing technology one cant wait for long in the
development of applications and test its success. Its always better
to go for tried and tested products.
