Ubisoft has announced that they will be releasing The Expendables 2 videogame, based on the eponymous upcoming movie, for the PC, Xbox 360 (via XBLA) and PS3 (via PSN) later this Summer. The title, which is a 4-player co-op shooter featuring both local and online action, will serve as a prequel to the events in the forthcoming film. "Four Expendables (Barney Ross, Gunner Jensen, Hale Caesar and Yin Yang) set out to rescue an abducted Chinese billionaire." The game includes a singleplayer campaign, challenge modes, vehicular combat (choppers, airplanes, 4x4's etc), diverse missions (tactical, assault, stealth and melee) and varied locales "from the forested Balkan countryside to the mountainous Somalian deserts, Kowloon industrial docks, Burmese Jungles".
