Eurogamer (Czech Republic) claims that
them folks over at 2K Czech are developing Mafia
III - the next instalment in the famous third-person
action adventure gangster-based franchise. Not much else is known
except that the title is supposedly in the works for next-gen
consoles (Xbox720/PS4). No word on a PC version yet, though the
first game Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven was initially released
for the PC, and only later on ported to the Xbox and PS2, while
Mafia II was simultaneously released on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in
2010. While the first game was brilliant, the second felt a bit
lacking even though players could freely roam around a city (Empire
Bay) in their choice of car similar to the GTA series, as there
were no side missions as such. Guess we will have to play the
waiting game to see how this one turns out.
