A job Listing on the CD Projekt RED
website points towards a
multiplayer mode which they are supposedly planning to incorporate
in an upcoming RPG set in a Dark fantasy world- which is
widely believed to be the Witcher 3.
The Listing says that "CD
Projekt RED is looking for an experienced multiplayer programmer to
work in our core team. Your main responsibility will be to prepare
our engine for challenges of upcoming online component of our
future games. You will lead our studio through necessary steps to
adapt to the new tasks and different way of thinking where
necessary"
I wonder how competitive
multiplayer would look like in The Witcher universe, given that one
of the primary attractions in the franchise is the mature
character-oriented storyline. But yes, it would be awesome to see
if they can incorporate an online co-op mode rather than the
typicaly competitive online multiplayer.
