Capcom has issued a new video of their upcoming
shooter Lost Planet 3, featuring a nearly
10-minute gameplay segment on the frozen planet EDN3 accompanied by
developer commentary for the multiplatform title, which arrives in
early 2013 on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. The clip shows protagonist
Jim on a mission to repair a communications relay tower, but to do
that he has to make his way through an Akrid nest, thereby
introducing us to enemies such as the Firewasp. Players can take
cover as in other third-person shooters, though this particular
enemy is capable of ranger attack; getting up, close and personal
with it leads to a close-up sort-of QTE (quick time event). Upon
finally reaching the satellite dish, we see a mysterious figure -
who appeared to have been tinkering with the relay - escaping from
the scene, following which it's up to us to repair the dish. Later
we tackle the Spitter, a large scorpion-type enemy, on foot as well
as in a mech wherein the view switches to first-person. We learn
that the rig's claw arm can be used to grab opponents and the drill
to finish them off. Watch the video below, and then feel free to
